About TMC
TMC (Telemedicine Clinic), founded in 2002, is a sub-specialist radiology reporting provider of day and night time reporting services. TMC support, daily, more than 50 NHS hospitals and another 100 hospitals in Sweden and Denmark with high quality reporting services.
We have 350+ accredited sub-specialist radiologists who focus on specific diagnostic areas that include Neuro, Body, Musculoskeletal and Emergency radiology.
Our goal is to make our company as human— as creative, as inventive, as caring and as purpose driven – like the wonderful human beings who work inside it.
Milestones
2002
TMC was founded by Henrik Agrell, David Backstroem and Dr Hans Billing,
2003
TMC start providing teleradiology services to Swedish hospitals. First Swedish client: Sollefteå Sjukhus.
2004
TMC start providing teleradiology services to UK hospitals. First UK client: Barnsley District General Hospital,
2007
TMC start providing teleradiology services to Danish hospitals. First Danish client: Sydvestjysk Sygehus TMC launch oncall teleradiology services and becomes the first UK and Scandinavian provider using the benefit of the “follow the sun model” by basing our radiologists in a reporting centre in Sydney with a convenient time difference to allow daytime reporting of emergency cases from the hospitals in the UK and Scandinavia.
2006
TMC became the first ISO 9001 certified teleradiology provider. TMC start providing teleradiology services to Norwegian hospitals. First Norwegian client: Helse Midt.
2005
TMC becomes the leading teleradiology group in the UK for the large Fast Track MRI contract sponsored by Department of Health. TMC start providing teleradiology services to Spanish hospitals.
2008
TMC becomes the leading PET/CT teleradiology reporting group for the North England Department of Health PET/CT contract. TMC is nominated as a candidate for the World Economic Forum’s Technology Pioneer 2009 award. TMC senior radiologists win the Magna Cum Laude merit for “Quality Control of Teleradiology Reporting” at the SERAM congress in Sevilla (Spain).

TMC has reported more than 1 million teleradiology cases
2013
Launch of OPTEMIS – the first Radiology Management and Reporting System built to facilitate efficient high quality sub specialist radiology reporting. OPTEMIS is designed and developed by the TMC inhouse software development team in close collaboration with the medical team.
2012
As one of the first pioneer providers in Europe, TMC launch telepathology reporting services for the first Swedish teaching hospital that has a fully digitalised pathology department The first TMC Barcelona Musculoskeletal MRI Course was successfully arranged.
2011
TMC starts with interactive online Clinical Sessions where both radiologists and radiographers from the TMC client hospitals participate in interactive educational sessions arranged by TMC subspecialists.

2019
Launch of remote MDT meetings where TMC sub-specialists prepare and participate online to discuss areas such as Upper Gastrointestinal cancer. The TMC OPTEMIS reporting platform is selected by the Schleswig-Holstein region in Germany for their mammography reporting quality assurance program
2018
TMC opens the second reporting centre in Australia. The new hub in beautiful Noosa quickly becomes another attractive location for our emergency radiology experts.
2017
TMC is acquired by Unilabs – the leading diagnostic group in Europe.
2020
TMC start using several AI solutions on a day-by-day basis to further enhance diagnostic quality in the radiology reporting process. TMC Academy launch the unique interactive radiology training solution – the Image Reporting Simulator
2021
TMC becomes the first teleradiology provider with an ISO 27701 certification which provides control measures that serve as tools to keep your organisation in control, which is fully aligned with GDPR. TMC becomes one of the leading providers of lung cancer screening reporting services for NHS patients. Inauguration of the new TMC UK teleradiology centre in Reading.
